Desperado

It’s not right, not OK
Say the words that you say
Maybe we’re better off this way?
I’m not fine, I’m in pain
It’s harder everyday
Maybe we’re better off this way?

Better that we break, Maroon 5

Evaluation is...

GOOD CONVERSATION period

When you asked someone as if they are being evaluated, they'd probably trying to put a fake face before you. Somewhat trying to make you happy....
So, conduct a relax conversation instead and let them tell you all things you need to know. And at the same time, get a bonus of things you don't really want to know. He he

That's what our evaluator did these past two days. We chat and tell stories, because he came as a friend. He's still doing his evaluation for he keeps asking questions. All wrapped in a smooth conversation.

Anyway, he's still have that facilitator attitude despite his evaluator role. :)
He's still Om Dani that is wiling to listen. Actively listen and giving us some advice too. *BLINK*

Hub..

Today's Monday.
Holiday...but an extraordinary holiday for us here. Today the word hub is best describe our secretariat. Some of the people are still coming to the office despite the holiday. Because we have an evaluator come to asses our programs.

Ok, back to the word hub. Today our secretariat is a meeting place for quite a lot of people from different place. The evaluator, Dani Wahyu Munggoro comes from Bogor. Bang Berry, our director have just arrived from Bali. And Pak E, our deputy director have just came from his wedding ceremony in his hometown in Trenggalek.

I'm excited as the evaluator is also a master facilitator for me. He is the one introduces the world of facilitation for me. Very nice to meet Om Dani again...:)

Read...Write as well

If the book we are reading does not wake us, as with a fist hammering on our skull, why then do we read?
So that it shall make us happy?
Good God, we should also be happy if we had no books, and such books as make us happy we could, if need be, write ourselves.
But what we must have are those books which come upon us like ill fortune, and distress us deeply, like the death of one we love better than ourselves; like suicide.
A book must be an ice-axe to break the sea frozen inside us.

Franz Kafka (1883 - 1924)

At first, I only love the last part. 'A book must be an ice-axe to break the sea frozen inside us'
In fact, the full paragraph even better...:)

Holistic Health

Cherish every small blessings you got, that's how you'll get content in life. Don't sweat small stuffs, that's to keep your emotion at a balanced state. Keep your mind clear, learn and read everyday. Put on a smile. Live a healthy life by eating more vegetables and doing physical exercise regularly. Try those, and keep your beautiful youth look longer than you've ever imagined because you've got a holistic health.

A person to prove my statement, Chandra Kirana, we all call her Mbak Kiki. She's still slim and beautiful despite her activity as an activist and a mother of four children. She's been involved in environmental organization since she was still in college. She joined a nature lover organization then. And she's been working with Greenpeace too.

Be healthy, holistically. A highlighted point of my conversation tonight with her. And sitting next to her on our dinner, she shared her happiness to me. She showed me pictures she kept in her cell-phone photo gallery...Pictures of all things that made her smile and made me smile too. Should it be the most important thing in her life (her husband and children), of simply a close up of a blossom blue lotus she kept in her garden back home.

Half of the office (maybe more...he he) went dinner with her. And we're having such a great time together. Tomorrow, she'll be the source person for a Focused Group Discussion here in Walhi South Kalimantan. Nice to meet an inspiring woman like Mbak Kiki.

Take Charge!

When you take charge of your life,
there is no longer need to ask permission of other people or society at large.
When you ask permission, you give someone veto power over your life.

Geoffrey F. Arbert

I like the quotation in a way that it supported what I did these past few years. Since I get into college life, and involved in many outdoor sport activities. Hiking, rock climbing, kayaking...the choice that at first gained my mother's disagreement. But I do it anyway, take a good care and still breathing in one piece until today...:)

And now, I've chosen to become a good [great to be] facilitator. Become an NGO-ers instead of being a teacher after graduated from English Teaching Department. Well, its a life I love to live. And, with integrity I'd be able to treasure my journey.

Sometimes it's still hard to synchronize my elements in creating my self-integrity. But, I keep on tryin'. Thanks Shadow, for the quote inspiration.
