Attitude

One little difference that makes a big difference is attitude. Yes, attitude. A person's attitude represents how they feel or their state of mind about something. Whether you like or dislike something. Thus, attitude can be positive or negative.

Somehow, positive attitude would help you to see that there's another sunshine after the rain. And according to Mac Anderson, the founder of SimpleTruths 'the difference in success or failure is not how you look, not how you dress, not even how you’re educated. It’s how you think!' He shared some keys to stay positive in today’s world, those which I feel like to share again to those who read my blog..:)

* Dreams
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step [Chinese Proverb]
* Purpose
Your vision becomes clear when you look inside your heart
* Passion
'Belief fuels passion and passion rarely fails' [M. Anderson]
* Courage
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying 'I will try agai tomorrow'
* Goals
Take the long view...one day at a time
* Stay Positive
'You become whattyou think about' [Earl Nithingale]
* Simplify
'Things that matter the most must never be at the mercy of things that matters the least' [Goethe]
* Laughter
'Laughter is the sunshine in any life' [William Thackeray]
'Laughter is your hearts' way of telling your face to smile' [D. Green]
* Expect the best
'It is a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it' [W. Somerset Maughan]
* Kindness
It is no the things you get but the hearts you touch that will determine your success in life
* Sing your song
A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song [Chinese proverb]
* Love
'Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile' [Franklin P. Jonas]
* Renewal
'The will to win...the will to achieve..goes dry and arid without continous renewal' [Vince Lombardi Jr]

Friends

This past few days, all I have in my surrounding are my friends! Literally. Because I'm still in Malaysia and so far I haven't found any family of mine here. Since I came here on Monday..11th June 2007, guess all I have is just one word. Friend.

Coming here representing Walhi Kalsel, for attending two workshops held by Seacem, I'm feeling really blessed. Yess, blessed! What other word can I say as I apply for two workshops and taken as a participant for both of it!

So, this week has been an adventure for me. Aside from the two workshop, I accidentaly happen to join the last day of Fiesta Feminista. A nationwide Malaysian women gathering take place in University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

The workshop trip has enable me to make new friends, to meet face to face with my online friends and to be able to meet again with my old friends! Happyyyyyyyyy....:D

Today, I hang out for quite a long time in a food-stall in Bangsar...right in front of Malaysiakini's office. Come with Intan, my friend the young artist from Shah Alam [I spent three days with her in SA and having great times with her fellow at Art Galeri of Shah Alam. The two of us come and meet again with Amin 'Black' and his pretty girlfriend. Also meet again with Redzuan 'Wantong'. Well, Wantong now has a car!!

Intan, Black and Wantong were in the same mission with me last year. We were the electoral observer of Anfrel for Afghanistan Parliamentary Election. Unfortunately, Erna, Badrul and Abror can't be with us. . Actually there's another former observer I wanna meet. Shriyanie from Srilanka. She's happen to be here at the moment I, Intan and Wantong already came by to the hotel she stayed in. But she's out for dinner as we came. So, tonight we cannot see her, and only been able to send her a note telling her how we miss her.

Future reunioun...with Quang and Massoud from track 1 Asia Source 2!! Already meet Quang at the lobby tonight, but havent seen Massoud yet...

Malaysia is Teh Tarik

At present,I'm blogging at Starbucks KL Sentral with the fluctuating internet connection. Not really bad, cos somehow I still can upload the pic. Bad enough to make M'sian people said their internet connection sucks!

Well, I'm here not for the drink. Cos for me, the best drink to have while I'm here in M'sia is TEH TARIK (pulled tea, literally..). Actually, it is tea with milk, served with soft bubbles as before it is presented the maker 'pull' it from one glass to another several times.

The above picture is all the participants of a workshop I attend here..taken by Sam. I'm going to stay another week here, as I also will attend one more workshop. Another one held by SEACem, the web video delivery workshop.

Wei -Ji

Wei ji, is a Chinese wisdom kept well in its language. The character combines crisis and opportunity. The word itself represent that the two situations are one and the same thing. It is up to the person who is in the middle of the situation to choose what the circumstances mean to them.

This mere word is my today's inspiration. After last night I downloaded an 18 pages e-book and finished reading it just a few minutes ago. The book title is: Playing with the game of life. Simply click on the tittle to get a free download of it. Written by David Bromfield.

As I'm googling the name of the author, I found several David Bromfields..Hehe..even better result I get with Google for my name...

Unseasonal rain!

I've always love rain shower. Even when it comes not in a perfect place and at a perfect time. Or in other words, unseasonal rain!

Outside..its now raining. No tears from my eyes, cos rain always brings me to happy times I've been through.

As a little girl, I really love to play under the rain. Playing mudfootball with my neighborhood boys. My mother let me, and prepare warm clothing and a cup of sweet warm tea for me. Because although I have the courage to play under a heavy- rain shower, I'm still a little bit afraid of the thunder. Lightning's fine, but a thunder...No way!

Grown up, I still love the rain. Rain shower makes me feel alive. And, simply watching the wet soil after the rain can make me smile. I also love the fresh smell of the rain.

Rain also helps me recover faster... Some bad days a teenager feels better after a contemplation in front of my journal, write down all my uncomfortable feelings as I listen to the sound of the pouring rain...Like Celine Dion once sang 'Let the rain come down and wash away my tears'

Not too good to be shared here...Heavy rain brings bad smell, yet unforgettable memory during Asia Source 2 camp in Sukabumi. I bet all of Track 1 participant still can recall the smell *giggle*..And, actually it's not only the rain's fault...guess it's due to some silly cats pee on the carpet. Yikkh...

Now, this unseasonal rain is an indication of climate change. Still, I love it somehow.

'Abah, to the world, you may just be one person...But, to me, you mean the world.'

Kabut Rimba (Forest's Haze)

Kabut Rimba, Bahasa phrase to say the Forest's haze. Why am I post on this Kabut Rimba stuff?. Because I'm really proud of it.

Last night, after an indoor 29th birthday ceremony in at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, the members of Kompas Borneo Unlam held an outdoor party at Bendungan Karang Intan (Watergate Karang Intan of Riam Kanan dam), about 60 kilometers from Banjarmasin. One hour by motorbike from South Kalimantan's capital city, Banjarmasin.

On the out-door celebration, besides our annual agenda in which the senior are updated with the current work of the students member of Kompas Borneo Unlam, we also had an additional agenda. The inauguration of Kabut Rimba batch. The newest three member of Kompas Borneo Unlam are officially registered in the life-long connection among members and other elements of the big family of Kompas Borneo Unlam.

So... Gedong, Bertha, dan Ambo...Welcome in the real world! Kompas Borneo Unlam and all its dynamics. Ups, welcome aboard too for Bang Amak. A so very kind 'simpatisan' of Kompas Borneo Unlam who is finally admitted member of Kompas Borneo Unlam!

Luv u All...

Happy Birthday...

Selamat Ulang Tahun Kompas Borneo Unlam.
Today, my dear KOMPAS BORNEO is exactly 29 years old. It was established in 1978.

The best I can tell about this organization is the connection that is shared among its members. Many still keep in touch, coz as you get to the entrance you'll have a life-long relationship with all of its members.

Although Kompas Borneo is a student's organization, once you admitted as its member...you'll be a member for good. So, I've always waited the annual birthday celebration. In the event, I'll get along with my brothers and sisters again. Some are as old as my father, and the youngest now are 5-7 years younger than I do...(As I'm now one of the senior, hehe...). Tomorrow's the day! We're the members of Kompas Borneo are gathering back in Unlam's campus in Kayutangi, Banjarmasin. Hope many will come and let's get the party started!
